Constipation And Endo
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Ladies is it possible to have endo bu the anal area? Ive aways been constipated never a normal bowel. Im startting to think its effecting me. No matter how much fiber I take I eat right thats what I just dont understand. Ive gotten a ct scan they said everything is normal besides the fact that I have cyst. Any other ladies dealing with this too? I dont want to take laxatives everytime this keeps happening 😞. Tips?

my specialist told me that the pouch of Douglas (space between the rectum & vagina) is the CLASSIC place for endo to be. It's very common. She could feel evidence of it during a pelvic exam so I might have it there. Lucky me! I do have bowel issues often & lots of hemorrhoids.

Yes! Its hard enough to talk about endo to non-endo people. But guess where it decided to strike? Up my butt. Its pretty common to have rectal/pouch of douglas endo implants and a lot of us here have that. Going back and forth from constipation to diarrhea and shooting ass pains, its not fun. Cbd, dietary changes, staying hydrated help a lot. Also, it seems old-timey but i have about 6 to 8 prunes a day now, I havent had to take laxatives since I started that. Abdominal self massage, gentle walking, and lots of mindfulness based muscle relaxation stuff too. But im hoping now that I have had excision I wont have to work so hard to manage it.

Heres a video from a pelvic floor PT who helps people with bowel issues. She is good at explaining everything, but I might use a little more pressure than she does and apply some lotion or massage oil first.
