A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Just finish talking to my doctor and just found out that instead of the normal 3 cuts you get from surgery (belly button and two on the sides of your lower tummy) she told me shes only cutting me above the bikini line like a c c section basically. Hello
If you are going to have laparoscopic surgery it is usually through the belly button and 2 holes
The other type ( bikini style )
Is usually traditional
However it maybe laparoscopic too
I am not a doctor
I had a bikini cut when I was 21 to remove cysts on my ovaries
It went very well
Painful but ok it took about a month to be better
And that was a long time ago ( I was young ) now they are even more advanced
2 years ago I had a total laparoscopic robotic hysterectomy
Did not go well
I had a great surgeon but my life has never been the same since ..
I would strongly advise to stay away from robotic surgery
( even though some women had a good experience with it )
Laparoscopic is usually ok
Ask your doctor what she exactly
Will do
Do not hesitate to ask questions
Do research before surgery
It is your body
It is your life
Actually I think traditional is better
Than some of The newer styles
I have not been well since my surgery
Before I had problems during my period etc but
I was ok , going to work etc
I had to stop working , driving
I am in pain every day
I have adhesions and all sorts of problem and a hernia also on my belly button since then
Please take care and be very cautious
Better to be informed than find yourself the situation I am in
Warm regards
And prayers
Hugs

Espoir
