Weight Frustrations
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Please help! I am at my witts end w my weight situation. I have gained 40lbs in the last 5 years since I started battling endo
I watch what I eat (no sugar, or flour, and I’m counting calories again 🤦🏻‍♀️), I drink nothing but water; I’m an active person. I’ve done running, lifting, HIIT, T25, some stretching and NOTHING seems to help. I will lose 2-3lbs and then just like that they are back again, and to boot I have this awful mommy pooch I’ve developed that I’ve never had before! It just… read more

Thanks! Yes, I follow an anti-inflammatory diet as well just to try and prevent any further pain/discomfort. I had a nutrionist once before but they were not familiar with hormonal issues and therefore it just didn’t work. I’d love to find a nutrionist who is more well versed with hormonal imbalances. I have no clue where to start. Maybe I’ll post on my local fb group and see about any recommendations. Thanks for the advice, I’m going to give that a try again! 😊

I am so sorry, I totally understand your frustration. I have never had weight issues and i gained a lot of weight from Endo in the last year. I don't even like to look in a mirror anymore because it makes me so self conscious. i saw my obgyn today and she considered going to see a nutritionist and get on an anti-inflammatory diet and it will help me loose weight and help with the pain.

I have, “normal”. Even my naturopath/atlternative med Drs I’ve seen say my thyroid is fine. It’s the endo and hormones. Something is off... I wish I had a reset button.

Hi. Don’t know if you already have, but have you checked your thyroid?

Thank you! Yes, I do all the same and def feel best when I avoid carbs as much as possible, but even then my weight is just so bothersome. It’s incredibly frustrating and defeating to feel so hard pressed for change and not be able to make a significant difference in how I feel. I apologize, some days are just harder than others. Ugh!
