Oh no! Sorry to say but your dr is incorrect. Yes I have had all the pain & symptoms you are describing & have also been on the exact same meds you're taking, plus progesterone to supress the endo symptoms (it still keeps growing though & the pain is increasing over time). I saw an endometriosis excision specialist about it & this is what they said:

1. Endo releases tons of prostaglandins (inflammatory molecules) which can cause pain all over your body including in the back, bowels, bladder, etc. even if it isn't directly growing on those areas. It can be removed by excision specialist surgeons.

2. Endo can grow directly on the sciatic nerve root or near it, however it is uncommon. But it can be surgically removed by *some* expert excision surgeons, but not all - here's info about sciatic endo:

https://centerforendo.com/can-endometriosis-aff...

3. Adenomyosis is a separate disease where the growths are inside the uterine wall. It can cause extremely heavy bleeding, killer cramps similar to labor pains, back spasms & sciatic pain. The uterus is usually enlarged & "boggy" (it feels soft & mushy to the dr when they press on it during pelvic exams). Adenomyosis can be seen on a pelvic MRI with contrast. Sometimes the growths look like fibroids so your average OBGYN can't always tell the difference, excision surgeons are better at telling the difference & there are several treatment options (other than just a hysterectomy so don't believe it if you hear that's the only treatment option for Adeno).

4. Bladder Endometriosis causes irritation & frequent urination, most excision specialists can remove it, here's info:
http://nezhat.org/endometriosis-treatment/bladd...

5. Interstitial Cystitis, which is chronic inflammation of the bladder wall. It's called the "evil twin" of Endometriosis, a lot of us have it as well. An anti-inflammatory diet plus avoiding acidic foods like tomatoes, citrus fruits & pinneapple, & spicy foods can help somewhat, you can look up "IC diet" for specifics. To diagnose it or rule it out, they can give you a short supply of medicine for IC to see if it gets better or not.

Might want to print out all these web pages that I linked & take them to your dr. I literally have to find & print out studies to show my drs b/c most of them don't have up to date education about any of these conditions. You can also find highly skilled excision surgeons in the Facebook group "Nancy's Nook Endometriosis Education" along with tons of studies & up to date info about Endo. Search in the group's file for "Surgeons_International" to find their list of surgeons who's skills they have vetted. Much better outcomes from surgery with them vs. your average OBGYN or other surgeons who's skill level hasn't been verified (85-95% success rate vs, only 20% success rate after surgery). Good luck!

I wish we could "favorite" posts to find them easily again later. I can't pull that info out right now but I'm definitely wanting to look it up too lol

I have the same pains the back and sciatic but no idea if it’s because of endometriosis. I was getting the run around with doctors for a long time. I’m still learning.

Oh thats miserable! I have all of that. I get siatica pain with my period every month.

I have endo on my bladder I pee twice an hour pretty often. When it's really angry and flared up it's every 15 minutes. Spicey food and anything with caffeine really aggrivates my bladder.

I use buscopan for bladder and bowel spasms it works wonders for me personally. You can buy it over the counter.

Check with a doctor and pharmacist to make sure it's safe for you to take if you do choose to try buscopan. It's for smooth muscles like bladder and bowels.

If you can get reffered to a urologist. Theyll scope your bladder to make sure you dont have bladder stones or issues inside the bladder. It's not fun but it's over quickly.

Also if you can have your magnesium potassium calcium levels checked. Imbalances in those can cause intense muscle spasms all over the body.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. It's sbsolutely miserable! I hope you find some relief and don't be afraid to get second opinions if possible. Hugs!
