Low Back Pain And Cramps - Symptom Of Endo Or Result Of A Stretch?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Hello. So I am in really bad lower back pain right now. It is causing bad cramping in my lower abdomen that feels like my uterus is dying. Most people don't know what I mean when I say that, but I figured that here would be the place where people might be able to relate. Basically super achy and it feels like someone is twisting my reproductive organs around.

This started last night with a 60 sec stretch given to me by a PT. I was on my hands and knees and had to tuck my tailbone under me and… read more

Oh I get that I think judging by the pulling feeling I've probably got adhesions again. I have a cyst on my ovary. I gotta be careful with any pelvic movements. That kind of movement sets off my pain like clockwork. I get bad lower back pain a lot with uterin issues. I'm sorry youre dealing with that.

Do you have other symptoms besides the cyst? Like cyclical pelvic pain, including back, hip, leg, sciatica? Those are common with endo. I've never had a big cyst that I know of so Idk but from what you describe, it sounds like more than a cyst, unless maybe your cyst burst or something. I had a lot of lower back pain and always felt very tight on my left side, and I ended up having a lot of adhesions on the left fusing my bowels to the sidewall and my fallopian tube was fused to my bowel. It never showed up on scans even MRI. I went to an excision specialist who was able to completely remove it

I'm sorry you're dealing with that! Sounds like some of my symptoms overlap with that condition, but these specific symptoms I experienced the night I posted that were isolated to that night. I believe I was experiencing a ruptured cyst. Now I am done with that, just back to dealing with more day to day endo pain and fatigue. I hope you feel better and find helpful treatment!!!

I have excruciating lower back pain, especially when stretching or standing too long, always thought it was all my endo. Recently has some Xrays and am seeing a rheumatologist and have been diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis. When I looked up the symptoms, they were so similar, I almost cried.

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member - PT is always a good idea as long as it's with a pelvic floor physical therapist who is really familiar with endometriosis & they take your pain seriously & are willing to adjust if you have a big flare up to something that they're doing.

If it's been 6 months or longer since your last ultrasound you can always ask for another ultrasound if you want to monitor the size of the cyst. Although a pelvic MRI with contrast is even better since it's better at showing endometriosis in other areas besides just the cysts. But they sometimes wont do an MRI unless you're considering surgery since they're more expensive. It's good that your cyst shrunk with birth control!
