I am having intense pain as I have a cyst that is 6mm big in my right ovary and also attached to my colon. I'm told this needs to come out. Anyone else go through this and if so what was your outcome ?
I have kissing ovaries. So bilateral cysts that are adhered to each other. Also everything is stuck to each other and bowel is stuck to back of uterus. My large cyst is 6.5cm. Yours is 6mm. That is fairly small. Normally they don't get rid of them if they're smaller than 4 or 5 cm, or if they give extreme pains. Yours do. And that sucks. So I guess it's positive that they're getting rid of the cyst. My ovaries won't be removed. At least.. They can't tell before a lap has been done. Is removing your ovary the only way according to them?

Thank you, Actually Sloan Kettering is viewing my case
I have a resource for you!! Very skilled Endometriosis surgeons are able to remove endometriomas (the ovarian cysts) without having to take out the ovary & Dr. Andrea Vidali just posted on Facebook that he is offering to waive his surgical fees for patients with endometriomas between 5 -7 cm!! You'd still have co-pays for the hospital fees & might have to pay for travel & lodging but it would be worth it if you don't have any other skilled surgeons near you.
Dr. Vidali is one of the top Endometriosis experts in the country. He's highly recommended in the Facebook group Nancy's Nook Endometriosis Education which tracks patient feedback for endometriosis specialists.
You can check in Nancy's Nook to see if there's any specialists near you but if not then I highly recommend emailing Dr. Vidali right away! Here's the details:
