I was found to have endometriomas on both of my ovaries with a history of stage 4 endometriosis. My doctor advised me to have hysterectomy & remove my ovaries, but if one of my ovaries looks okay, he will leave it. I initially preferred to take everything out, not only because of endometriosis, but also due to the risk of cancer (family history of uterine & breast cancer), but my doctor said there's more side effect of having surgical menopause (like cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, breast… read more
You're welcome. Let me know if I can do anything else.
Please help. In January, my OB put me on Ortho Micronor because my periods were horrible. I called my doctor yesterday, because I do not feel like the BC is helping. My periods are still very painful, heavy, etc. I hurt all of the time, even in between my periods. I have a lot of bloating, pain on my right side, fatique. I am scheduled to see him tomorrow. The nurse said that he recommended an ablasion and D&C. I have had abnormal paps in the past and had the LEEP procedure done 3 years ago. My… read more
Thank you! I went to the doctor. He is putting me on a pill taper to stop my bleeding. He also did some blood work today, checking my CBC, Thyroid and pregnancy test. I have my tubes tied. I have had… read more
Hello
It's my first time posting about this. I was told last weekend after going to emergency room with what I thought was appendicitis that I had 2 ovarian cysts and endometriosis (1 on each ovary). One is about 5cm and one is almost 8cm
I have an appointment with a gynecologist next week and I am really scared. I want kids one day, and have been using NAC and DIM supplements as well as turmeric and omega 3s in hopes that it will help shrink them or help with the pain.
Has anyone ever had… read more
This question is for Nachbet. Where was the endometrioma? Mine is on an ovary. Do endo specialists have better tools to preserve your ovaries and uterus or are they likely to just recommend cutting… read more
I am having intense pain as I have a cyst that is 6mm big in my right ovary and also attached to my colon. I'm told this needs to come out. Anyone else go through this and if so what was your outcome ?

I have 2 endometriomas on my left ovary. I was scheduled to have them removed next week but the hospital cancelled my surgery due to the guidelines for the Coronovirus right now. Since my surgery is postponed I’m taking this time to do a lot of research. I’m learning excision is the best method. I’m wondering how likely they are to return or for more to develop if I’m not on anything after the surgery? My doctor said if I don’t suppress the hormones it will grow back but I thought if they were… read more
Consider looking in different states, if you find one that takes insurance it might be more doable even with the cost of travel
Hey there!
I’ve been worried lately... I have 2 cysts (1 on each ovary) about 3.5 cm each that my doc says are endometriomas. This is based on ultrasound only, never had a lap. He also said if they get to be over 4cm he’ll want to remove them because of the risk they could be cancer. Should I ask for a lap anyway? Its my understanding that ovarian cancer is hard to detect and once it’s been diagnosed it’s generally in the late stages...
Yep, if it’s high, something is going on.. but not necessarily cancer. If it’s low, you may still have cancer.
So i have this ovarian cyst. It's been giving me hell for a while now. And im not sure what can be dome to make me more comfortable. I was told to wait til September for another ultrasound, and to come back to the er once im vomiting and hunched over in pain. But something can be done, no? I hope so, because im lost & confused
Hmm, well from this article, it sounds like they can be a "normal" part of ovulation, but can continue to grow?
I feel like I am going crazy. I have asked my doctors again and again to check if I have an autoimmune disease but no one takes me seriously. Well, I got bloodwork done and of course I test positive for autoimmune antibodies. But wouldn't it make sense for people with endo to have positive autoimmune antibodies? Think about it. We have uterine tissue growing in places it doesn't belong. Can't your body recognize that as foreign and start attacking it? Obviously, I'm not a doctor but it just… read more
Yep women with endimetriosis have it high.
After reading a lot of people’s stories on here, I’m starting to doubt getting the surgery from seeing so many women having more problems after surgery than before. I really want to be able to have a baby and I do have “simple” and “complex” ovarian cyst that go up and down in size also they said I have “endometriomas” on my ovaries through MRI at my first hospital stay last November. Im not sure if those are the ones that grew into the complex cyst I have now? I’m so confused now with all my… read more

I have been on Visanne 2mg for 6 weeks. The spotting/light bleeding started 10 days after I was on the pill, and until today, the bleeding never stopped. It got a bit heavier starting at week 5: bright red blood with some small clots, but much less bleeding than a regular period. From time to time, I got cramps and I took an Advil, then I can carry on without any problem. But for the last 3-4 days, my pain is getting much much worse. At 2AM I woke up by some very sharp spasms in my tail bone… read more
I would definitely have a second opinion as visanne can actually cause cysts (or so it says in the manual). A laparoscopy would be good to at least diagnose you properly with endo. Maybe you have… read more
