Pelvic Physical Therapy
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi everyone! My gynecologist prescribed pelvic physical therapy. Anyone have any advice, experience, tips…..anything about this? I’m hopeful and willing and would love all opinions!

Hello! I've been doing PT for pelvic floor for some time now, and some advice that has definitely helped me is to take things slowly and listen to your body, especially if you will be using dilators or something similar! I usually feel a bit better after each session and the whole process has helped me understand how everything in my body is functioning together/how things are connected.
I hope PT is helpful for you!! <3<3

Hi there! I did pelvic floor PT last year for a coyole months. My experience was amazing with just a slight hiccup. After years of so much pain, I was constantly tense and holding all my muscles tight. She taught me how to relax all those muscles and it worked wonders for me. The only problem was it was something new for my body and a change, so I would have some pain after PT. I highly reccomend trying out PT though and I’m very hopeful for you!
One thing I didn’t realize before starting PT, was how personal it was going to get. With consent, she did some internal stretching and exercises which was a tad awkward at first, but she did a great job making sure I was comfortable and that I approved of everything she was doing. Good luck!

I do! 🙋🏻‍♀️ one of the few things tha truly helped me cope. Id just say make sure you emotionally connect with and trust your PT because they will literally be up in your vag 😬

I understand. Who performed excision?

Hormones don't stop disease progression. Many encourage regrowth.

This why I am asking who performed your excision and if he or she is a vetted endometriosis EXCISION specialist.
