Laparoscopy
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am scheduled to have a laparoscopy on the 14th of April. I’ve never had one done. What should I expect? ( pre-op, healing time, recovery complications you’ve had, questions I should ask etc. ) I’m trying not to just research everything and scare myself because I know that’s what I’ll do!

Hi! Laparoscopy, in my opinion (which I've had 3 between 2 obgyns) is the same rest you would get after having a baby. After the surgery, my throat was a lil sore from the tube to monitor my breathing, not to eat prior bc of the tube so you won't throw up. It wasn't a long procedure, when my Dr explained the anesthesia, and inserted it I was knocked out in seconds, and he woke me up in what seemed like min. I think I stayed at the hospital for like 2 hrs after to make sure my vitals were ok. Don't be scared, it's better to know and treat, than not know and go untreated. Good luck! You got this!
