Bloating!
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi everybody. Just want to know if this is normal as it's never happened to me. I'm 36 diagnosed endo 2 operations (it's never ending) I've started getting a week of black blood/discahrge before my period every month and spotting after sex. Last night I was laid in bed and my stomach blew up, so big I felt like I couldn't breathe. A bit of back story..... I moved to Spain 5 years ago ( I was diagnosed in the UK). It has been a rollercoaster trying to get the doctors over here to take it… read more

Hey, sorry to hear of your struggles. Bloating is definitely very common amongst endo gals… can be caused from your cysts, general inflammation in the pelvis from the endo, or leaky gut issues which is very common in endo gals as well. Also if youve got it on your bowel, it is likely generally wreaking a bit of havoc on your digestive system. A Naturopathic Dr may be able to help you work on inflammation, gut issues, food intolerances etc to reduce the symptoms (and help improve your cycles) if you havent seen one already. A couple other things I’d recommend are Mercier therapy or if you can’t find that near you, an osteopath who does organ mobilisation - this can reduce symptoms and improve chances of pregnancy (increases organ mobility, pelvic blood flow etc). Mastering your Fertility is an awesome podcast - so informative and several endo specific episodes. I’m also 36 and started trying for a baby 2.75 years ago… didn’t know i had endo but had suspected something was generally not right with my body for years and was dismissed… my endo symptoms went absolutely wild when i went off the pill and i had early losses, a million tests and procedures, 3 rounds of IVF and finally lap surgery (stage 4 endo) and am now 6 weeks pregnant 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 I hope some of these things will help you bring a baby home quickly!

Haley.. I hear you, sis. There's something very wrong with the situation when women have to fight and fight then experience medical trauma because their provider/insurance doesn't take them seriously...I can totally relate to your situation. I'm battling insurance to get care with an out-of-network specialist. Endo is stealing my life. I have all the same symptoms as you, plus burning urinary pain and constipation. 😢 sending you healing energy 💛
