Bowel Cancer And Bowel Endometriosis?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

So my question is whenever I read about bowel cancer symptoms it's quite similar to bowel endometriosis symptoms the common one is bleeding in stools, so how do you know if bleeding in stools warrants further investigation.
Or should you still get it investigated even if you have bowel endometriosis ?

I've been worried about this too I'm currently having tests. My doctor said what do you think it is 🙄 I said it could possibly be my endometriosis she was like no it wouldn't be that. It's like talking to a brick wall.....

Always investigate. It will put your mind at ease.

Yeah when you look up blood in stool it always goes to colon or bowel cancer which is frightening. But definitely having tests and a colonoscopy will put your mind at ease.

Claire I've also read conflicting information some say bleeding in stools is rarely caused by endometriosis and some say it is .
But when you read about possible reasons on blood in stools I never see bowel endometriosis as one this is when reading about bowel cancer.
If that makes sense .
Another reason I'm questioning if it's a DIE nodule is they didn't do a biopsy on it it was an unexpected finding in the operation report they said it's a nodule but then in another report they say it's a DIE nodule I think getting it investigated sooner should be next course of action instead of waiting for my operation which I don't know how much longer I'm going to be on the waiting list.
Least in a colonoscopy they can biopsy it or tell me what it actually is.

Thanks Johanna, it's hard deciding what to do as I don't want to do uncessary tests but I will seek advice from my doctor but i needed some insight from others it's better to have peace of mind then always wondering.
