Anyone Here Taking Visanne And Experienced Non-stop Bleeding After 4 Months? Bleeding Is Still Ongoing For 5 Weeks Now. No Pain
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

In my first 3 months of medication, my period has completely stopped. However, on my 4th month, I got my period and it’s non-stop. The amount of bleeding varies per day from light to moderate flow. I went to see my OB on my 3rd week of bleeding and she prescribed tranexamic acid for 5 days. The bleeding has improved (got lighter) but it still hasn’t stopped and it goes for 5weeks now.

I’m on my 7th month of taking Visanne…since I started taking it, on September 2023, my period was messed up - November & December were the heaviest with clots. December was light and January to March were peaceful. I’m surprised that I have light bleeding with clots today. Does any one of you still bleed after 6 months of taking Visanne?

Hi. I feel you. I have been on Vissane for a little over a month and when i had my menstruation, there was no pain. A relief after 4 years! I have been bleeding very lightly for 12 days now. That's just the downside though. I do not know when this will stop.

Hope it gets better for you. I am also going through the exact same problem. 4 months on visanne and it was a breeze. But then the spotting/ bleeding started and almost after a month of it I went to see the gynae. I do have pelvic pain also.
Gynae checked and found nothing, gave Etamsylate for 5 days that has now reduced the bleeding, though it's not stopped. She is now recommending I stop visanne and go for Mirena IUD as it is a smaller dose and thus she expects lesser side effects than visanne..
I am still thinking about it as I am not comfortable having a foreign object inside of me.
