In my last post I talked about being diagnosed with endo. Recently by a fertility specialist. The specialist advised I go on lupron for 3 months to lower inflammation and increase my chances to conceive. Well I thought I’d ask my OBGYN for her opinion and she asked ne how was I diagnosed with endo. And I told her I had a biopsy and hysteroscopy. My OBGYN told me the only way to get diagnosed is by sometime that goes into your stomach and leaves scars. So question is; how we’re you diagnosed with… read more
Thank you Sally! I appreciate your time and input on this. God Bless :)
Hi there - usually an experienced Gynecologist would be able to tell you right away if it seems like Endometriosis. I had scans (MRI) done, then the doctor also did altrasound and a pelvic ultrasound which is very accurate. Only once that was established and cysts are discovered, then a surgery will follow. Either laparoscopy or laparotomy depending on the size and location of the cysts. From there only a biopsy can be done on the cyst. The purpose of a biopsy is to test for malignancy. My Dr. found no cancer ( the cyst was huge and frightened the radiologists. My Experineced Dr. told me not to worry and GOD was right there reassuring me the entire time)
I hope that helps. Don't worry too much, GOD's got you.
I visited gynaec for severe Dysmenorrhoea complaint and she had a hunch so did an internal scan. Turns out I have a small (<2cm) chocolate cyst in one ovary and rest all looks okay based on what scan shows. That's how I was diagnosed and am currently on first month visanne. Though she did mention that the only way to assess the true extent of endo was through lap surgery but since my case isn't severe and choc cyst is so small, I don't need the surgery - which many other cases might.
I was also by a fertility doctor after he did a Laproscopy, and he said he got rid of it. However from this day forward, my pain got drastically worse everyday until I begged every Dr. I could talk to that I needed someone to remove whatever is messed up in there, because it kept me in bed for years until my new female gyno said I was in stage four and had nesty nests and lesions everywhere so she removed everything I could live without and she tried to remove as much as possible.
You have to be persistent about your pain, and don't stop until you are satisfied. Take care. I hope you get the help you need asap. Hugs
