What Is Your Recommendation For Experienced Endometriosis Surgeons In San Francisco Or Boston?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi everyone, I just got diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis, and I'm trying to get pregnant. So, I'm looking for the most skilled and experienced gynecologic surgeon in San Francisco Bay area or Boston area. I'd appreciate any resources or suggestions on gyn surgeons with experience -performed many surgeries for severe endometriosis. Thanks for any info!

Anytime. Good luck! Also, I've now figured out this whole "recommendations" tab thing, so feel free to read them there on my profile too. I've put in a lot more detail as I've learned this sight.

Does Anyone Else Have Symptoms That Are Not “common”?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I always see that common symptoms are painful, heavy, and/or long periods, but I have very light and short periods, and my periods aren’t crampy (other than terrible lower back pain), but I often have pain and constipation a few days after ovulation. I have a laparoscopy scheduled for Thursday, so I just wondered if anyone else experienced similar symptoms.

I also had/have extremely light periods with no pain. This disease is effing ridiculous. 🤬

I’m sure if men suffered from it we would have more answers.

Did Visanne Cause You More Pain Than You Usaully Had?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

My endo pain was not that bad until I started taking Visanne.
My periods are heavier and comes with the worst pain. I never had pain like that in my life.
The pain is there on normal days and are on my healthy ovary and fallopian tube?

Did anybody else experience this?

Will keep you posted if any of the side effects ease off

Excision
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I’m wondering why it is not a good option to do a combination of excision and cauterizing surgery? The laparoscopic surgery I am currently scheduled for my gynecologist does both excision and cauterization. I’ve been reading that excision only is the way to go. But I would like to know why. I’m currently debating whether not to cancel my scope and try to find another surgeon.

*TMI Maybe*Has Anyone Tried The Anti Inflammatory Endo/IBS Diet? Or Anything Else To Help Weight Gain When Your Body Flushes Everything Out?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am struggling to find the PDF, but I have heard there is an elimination diet some people with endo have found success with that's also used by people with IBS symptoms, at least at reducing digestive symptoms.

Have you tried it, or found anything else diet-wise that's helpful?

I can't exactly eat the BRAT diet (banana, rice, apples, toast) for two weeks out of the month, if you know what I mean.

Does anyone with digestive symptoms have anything diet wise that they've found helps? I'm… read more

Has Anyone On Here Had Bowel Endo And Had Colon Resection Surgery? If So Did It Help The Pain
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member

The surgery went well. Unfortunately the pain that I was having was being caused by a herniated disc leaking fluid bc the pain came back regardless of my hysterectomy and my colon surgery. Now I did… read more

Has Anyone Had Experience With Dr. Laura Douglass At University Of Chicago For Excision Surgery?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was scheduled to see Dr. Farah Alvi, who is on the Nancy's Nook list of endometriosis specialists, but I couldn't take the pain and asked for an earlier appointment with any endometriosis specialist available. Does anyone have experience with Dr. Laura Douglass? Should I be trying to see Dr. Farah Alvi instead? I just don't know how much longer I can take this pain.

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member

Absolutely!! Thank you!!
