Hello .. i’m happy to see someone else right about this it’s something that’s really not talked about an ANA test if people don’t know it’s for autoimmune disease, mostly lupus and if you have the time you should Google endometriosis and lupus just those two words and you will not believe what you will find most patients with endometriosis will or have developed lupus back when I was diagnosed in 91 there wasn’t detailed information on endometriosis. My doctor knew what it was knew how to treat it. He was incredible but all these things and information they have now is unbelievable I did test positive for ANA and never questioned my endometriosis, but when you’re struggling with endometriosis, it becomes your life and it wasn’t till after I had my hysterectomy and was done having children that I realized I’m still having symptoms fatigue you know diarrhea it just was strange and that’s when it was possibly mentioned to see a rheumatologist, but I never really pursued it, but then mother and brother diagnosed with lupus and way too many coincidences and stories in my life it’s been quite some time that I’ve been wanting to get tested for it and it’s just gotten worse. The symptoms progressively but some doctors don’t even go by a positive ANA. They downplay it!!!!but I’m going to see my go next and I’m going to bring up this whole connection , apparently there’s numbers that you have to fall within for a normal ANA and my numbers were just three points over it’s still positive but she saying barely it’s never ending it’s always something that we have to try to advocate for ourselves
oh my goodness, this post could not have come at a better time thank you for posting about this, i was aware of the link between endo and lupus, and I've had SO MANY muscular skeletal and joint problems, as well as kidney issues lately, it's all adding up. If you're not sure that's fine, but will rheumatology tell you if you have lupus? or do you have to request a separate, normal ANA blood test? I'm waiting on an appointment for rheumatology so hoping they'll be able to tell me?
hope you're well! xx
I took one of those tests. It was negative, but the surgery a few months later came up with stage 2 endometriosis
I had excision surgery 1 year ago and had an ANA test about 7 months ago and it was negative.
