Is It Normal For Symptoms To Get Worse Quickly?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am only 20 years old and have only started feeling the pain since January of this year. It's now been 7 months and within the last 2 my symptoms have gotten progressively worse. I am curious to know if anybody had a similar experience. I was sure it would take years for my pain to get this bad.

Bekah, each case is different. My symptoms started to get progressively worse like yours after years I had been diagnosed in November 2018. Just in 2021 things started to get unbearable :I had chronic tiredness, pain in my lower back was very intense, my belly (what they call endo belly )was always distended, I could not sleep properly or lose weight, it was very difficult to go to work so tried I was, concentration difficulties, etc. As I know it was caused by endometriosis, I looked for a gynaecologist first to check how deep was it -i did a laparoscopy with that purpose because, if it was level 1 or 2, it could help. However, I discovered it was level 4 (the most severe) and I did my surgery this year. I did a hysterectomy(as I had endo in the uterus as well) and a part of my left ovary and lower intestine was removed (all with endometriosis focuses ). My doctor told me to do physiotherapy as soon as I get better, so I did and today (almost 4 months after) I feel I got my life back. Please look for help as soon as possible. Ask for a MRI with contrast (which can track where the endometriosis is ) to your gyneco and discuss which are the possibilities in your case. I really hope you get well.
