I’ve tried ice packs but I wasn’t sure if this was a normal/common endo symptom

Heya.

This is normal. Try using a hot water bottle or heating pad in order to ease the pain. I found that mild pain killers were also handy in limiting the level of pain. You can even buy a cheap hot water bottle or heat pad online or see if you can get one in a local pharmacy or try Boots instead. Hugs. You are in my prayers. Put the hot water bottle or heating pad down on the bed and stretch out in a way that allows it to warm you up and relieve pain.
Tissues and period pads are also helpful in addition here. Whenever I was out and I was having a flare up I had to use tissues and two heavy flow pads.
