How Long Does It Take To Recover And Be Moving Around After Laparoscopy?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi, I am having a laparoscopy on the 15th of this month. How long did it take for you to be able to move around and do things etc? My sister is going in on the 19th to have her waters popped will I be ok to go? I had one November 2021 but can’t Remember how long it took for me to start moving around and feeling better.

My first surgeon just wasn't equipped to remove as much as needed to be, he felt it was too dangerous. My second surgeon was an endo specialist so she was willing to be a more aggressive and while still preserving what fertility I have left but it also had spread rather quickly. I had to have my appendix removed in the second one as well so that added some recovery

It takes at least two weeks. Sometimes three.

I would not be well enough four days postop. I was sore and sleeping a lot!

depends on your body tbh. I have two, one in January and one in September my first surgery wasn't bad I was up and going for a walk a few days later however my second one was much more aggressive and it took about a month before I was able to go for a five minute walk.

I was walking 11 hours after surgery. Just a short walk. I wanted to be up and going to feel better.

Hi, I just had mine Dec 19, and it was my first one, they found "mild" endo so I was up and walking two days later! I had a dentist appt the next day and was worried about that but I got a ride and was fine! I was sore for a good week, which impacted sleep etc. But I was pleasently surprised how fast I recovered! I went back to work as a massage therapist 17 days later, and also started workouts again at the same time. My incisions are still healing...
