I personally have had a bad experience with the Mirena IUD. It caused me horrible cramps and bleeding for about 5 months. I still randomly get cramps. I’ve also been struggling mentally and emotionally as it causes me extreme mood swings. Not everyone’s experience is the same but for reference I’m 24 and have never been on birth control before. It kind of is a recurring symptom of endometriosis. And yes it does grow with each cycle, though not as fast but constant monitoring is extremely important.

Yes, mine grew back the same year. That is in 2019. I shared my experience here sometime back. Another doctor scheduled another surgery in 2021 but I went for a second opinion. The other doctor put me on Visanne for two years while doing CT scans in between. The size was reducing but I was completely dependent on the meds. One day I woke up and decided, no, I can't do meds my entire life. I changed my diet, and started on turmeric, ginger and a dash of black pepper. That's what I have been on since 2022 December. My quality of life has improved.

My doctor mentioned the same thing to me with my endometriomas but I'm having a lot of pain with other symptoms. He wanted to continue monitoring it since it wasn't that big but I spoke up about it. Yes, endometriomas continue to grow some people it grows a little faster then other. If you don't mind me asking how are you feeling with the Mirena IUD? I'm supposed to have one placed during my surgery next week. A little scared to be honest.
