Since my surgery last year I’ve had worsening bladder symptoms. I don’t know exactly when it started but I didn’t have this much trouble before my surgery. This summer it’s seemed like it’s escalated more and my pain with using the bathroom is happening more frequently. If I wait too long to go it triggers a full blown flare up. If anyone has any tips on ways to wait longer without pain and/or decrease pain and cramping during and after using the bathroom please let me know

Omg so relatable. I am a teacher too. I find that my pain and urgency correlates with increased pelvic floor tension and gets better after a session of pelvic floor physical therapy. Specifically the internal tension release work. Sometimes it can also be from my uterus pushing on my bladder. My therapist has been able to adjust the position of my uterus on those occasions which is helpful
Hey, I’ve been feeling the same way and I am also a teacher and it’s been hard trying to navigate this! It really hurts my lower abdomen when I try to hold my pee in. Also looking for tips and ways to make this easier.
I had this happen after my hysterectomy, I know they had to scrape the walls of my bladder to remove the adhesions so I knew what was causing it but not really how to stop it. My surgeon prescribed pyridium which is a bladder analgesic and also baclofen which is a muscle relaxant. They helped me feel like I was doing something to help which ultimately helped me relax about it. Those were only temporary however and I couldn't take them long term. My anxiety was and still is the biggest driver of bladder pain. I love the stick on heating pad idea from the moderators. I think refraiming that the pain was temporary and not going to kill me is what it took to manage it the best. Trying to prevent the pain by not letting my bladder get full and then feeling guilty when that inevitably happened was the cycle I needed to break. You will have moments where it hurts but don't blame yourself for the circumstances that led to that if at all possible. Pain is part of this condition. Learning not to let that pain overwhelme the activities of daily life is the constant practice. Hope you find something that works for you short term before getting more help.
Managing bladder symptoms with endometriosis is genuinely tough, and the anxiety of heading back to a classroom without easy bathroom access makes total sense. You're already doing the right things by pursuing PT and a urology appointment — that's huge.
