When the pain is really bad, it seems to travel up to my face. My acupuncturist thinks that it is TMD due to the stress of my body being in pain for so long. Does anyone else have unusual gripping patterns on one side of their body? I know my pelvic floor is constantly in spasm, but when it gets worse I can feel it travel into my upper abdomen, my hands, my abductor, and my face. My right eye feels dryer and heavier than the left. The facial pain stems from my jaw it seems (which is slightly… read more

Members validated the experience of one-sided facial pain during endometriosis flares, with many describing similar symptoms including jaw pain, ear pressure, neck stiffness, eye heaviness, and numbness or tingling concentrated on one side of the body. Several members shared that their doctors attributed these symptoms to TMJ or TMD caused by chronic stress and pain, with treatments like mouthguards, acupuncture, anxiety management, and stress reduction helping to ease the discomfort. A recurring theme was the emotional relief of not being alone in experiencing these frightening symptoms and the importance of ruling out other autoimmune conditions, as people with endometriosis face higher risk for additional diagnoses.

A few days before my flow hits I get an awful pain in the left side if my face. Mostly my ear and down my neck. Feels like a horrible ear infection. It's gets so bad sometimes I can't move my head, talk, or eat. It's the weirdest symptom and it comes every month. I usually just ha e to take something a lay down. It last about 3 days.

My twin sister has MS. I went for months thinking I had it. I had numbness in my face, tightness & tingles in my head (also numbness/tingling in my body - all on one side). My VitaminD level was 9. I thought I was having a stroke! Stress made it all worse (and the upsetting stress thinking I had MS made it even worse) But brain scan shows it was not MS. So... turns out it was #1 Anxiety/Stress and #2 TMJ. I was having panic attacks and at night was heavily grinding. My jaw felt like it had been punched and sometimes I could feel my jaw trembling. I started wearing a mouthguard and de-stressed (with the help of anxiety meds) and I've been fine. Have you been to a TMD specialist?

Also - my twin had symptoms for years like this. Since Endo is an auto-immune disease I sincerely suggest always to keep checking b/c us with endo unfortunately we have a higher chance for getting other auto-immune diseases.

Hi, I have exactly the same symptoms in my jaw, face, head and neck. I have been backwards and forwards to Guys hospital for tests and they says it’s all down to TMD too and burning mouth syndrome and I also have cyst and suspected endometriosis I am seeing a consultant in April for my laparoscopy. Did you ever find out if it’s all linked and get any help for the symptoms? I’d be very thankful as I’m still searching for answers and relief! Many thanks
