Pms?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Is pms a part of endo? I'm 99.9% sure I have endo I have an app at the hospital next month, Along with the unbareable pain and many other symptoms I seem to have extreme pms. I'm so unbelievably angry at times I can't control it other times I'm extremely sad or extremely happy a lot of the time these 3 emotions cam all come on the same day! I feel like I'm losing everyone due to my erratic moods I've never been like this before? Advice please :(

when i went for my first opp the doctor told me that they had removed a cyst of 8.5 cm which is apparently huge and dangerous she also said that most moods (PMS) comes from cyst because the basically have build up hormones in them

It could be the imbalance of your hormones that are causing all the mood swings but it could also be from depression. I was diagnosed with depression when I was 17 and it was because of these horrible mood swings I would get. One minute I would be crying and upset over something, then super angry and mean then perfectly fine. I'm not trying to come off rude or assume you have depression but those feelings really do go hand in hand w/ depression. I think a lot of women on here have been diagnosed with depression or gone through some kind of depression with all we go through w/ our Endo. Luckily my OB/GYN recommended I go to therapy to talk about my feelings and thats how I got diagnosed. Hopefully when you go in for your appt they can figure something out for you that will help you feel better!? Good Luck!

I think that any cyst over 4cm's is considered dangerous...or needs to be removed asap because they're likely to burst.

Interesting. It makes sense. I'd certainly believe it. Freaky moody with cysts, regardless of the size and how much they shrink with acupuncture.

I surely do believe endo has a lot to do with pms. I know that before I had my laproscopy to remove my 6cm chocolate cyst and endo lesions I was extremely moody and especially at the time of my period and about a week to a week-and-a-half before. Uncontrollably moody! If I remember correctly, I think I have read some articles listing pms as a symptom. Between the pain of endo and the hormonal side of menstruation and all of the things that go with it, I would say yes! I take zoloft and even though my temper and moodiness has gotten better with zoloft, I'm still a little uncontrollable around the time of my period. There is no helping it right! I try and try to ti be in a good mood around that time and make a concerted effort with my body and mind but they just won't cooperate! 😕 It can make me feel like I'm bi-polar at times!
