Is The Only Option To See In Uterus The Laparoscopy?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have experienced for 4 yrs..leg pain..rectum, back and lower left abdomen pain as well as bloating and sometimes constipation..sometimes nausea and diarrhea. All this with heavy cycles. The cysts I had 2 yrs ago they say aren't seen now on ovaries. They said I have an enlarged uterus and the only way to see anything is with laparoscopy. What should I do?

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member You're so welcome! I'm glad you have decided to have the surgery and get the results and answers you need! I totally understand how scary it is thinking of going into surgery and going under anesthesia. Honestly it really is not that bad it's just more uncomfortable and yes the first few days you are sore but that's what painkillers, anti inflammatorys and heat pads are for! :) Plus make sure to stock up on the proper food. Get crackers, soup, jello aka food that's kinda blah to slowly work your way back to normal food. Don't eat what you normally do right away because it could cause bad gas pains and nausea! The doctor will go over all this fun stuff with you but this is just a heads up! :) And definitely be prepared to be down a week. That's usually how long it takes your body to get back to feeling somewhat normal. Best of luck to you girl! I hope this surgery helps you get better!!

Yes the only way to see inside the uterus is to have a laparoscopy. If you want to find out and know what exactly is going on you should do it. It could help answer a lot of the problems you listed that you've been having the last 4 yrs. Laparoscopys are so commonly done now they really are not a big deal or anything to be scared to have done. It's 3-4 very tiny incisions made on your lower abdomen and a scope is sent through your navel to see everything going on.

A week to two. Yes, undergoing surgery is the only way. I assume you'd rather have laparoscopic surgery than a laparotomy (open abdominal).

Thanks so much @NicoleWhightman. I was scared when she told me I'd have to be put under and prepare to be down for a week. I'm going to have it done. I'm bleeding between cycles now.
