Depo was an option given but not taken. It was a horrible drug for me 12 years ago and I swore I would never do it again. The Lupron shot was much better on my body. I don't remember to many side effects to Lurpon minus the hot flashes but I do remember Depo. Almost as bad as prednisone.

There are other options too. There's Depo Provera. There's Nexplanon. Be your own advocate. This means not being afraid to do serious research and find what's out there that your doctor isn't telling you about.

In my opinion i would choose IUD, Lupron is like going through chemo. It throws you right into menopause without any waring whats so ever. I had a really really rough time with the shots.

Lupton is crap even my gyn said iud is better because there's been studies done 😊

I have the Mirena IUD as birth control and still use Lupron for endo. So it’s not really a choice between the two. Lupron was hard on my overall system but I got significant pain relief from my treatment with it. I did two 3 month shots of Lupron. I have had the IUD for 10 years. It has been changed twice during this time.
