Ok ladies - BEST excision specialist you've seen? I'm looking into excision and really want to go to an amazing specialist. I'm in the Midwest, but would be willing to travel if that's the best option and the doctor is worth it. Any experience with the endometriosis centers or academic hospitals?

Yes he uses only excision and he has done over 5000 of them. In fact that is ALL he does. He doesn't deliver babies, no annual exams, endo only for 20 straight years. He has a great thoracic team if it's above your diaphragm, and a great bowel/bladder team too. His website is centerforendo.com and you can register for a free record review there. His wait list is about 3 mos but u can get pit on a cancellation list and maybe get in sooner.
Dr. Ken Sinervo at the Center for endometriosis in atlanta, GA is absolutely wonderful and northside hospital was by far the best hospital I have ever been too. Highly recommended! I'm 2 mos post op and I've not felt this good since I started my cycles!
Dr. Harris did my emergency laparotomy in 2005...a 10 x 10 ovarian cyst had burst. Endo hasn't come back. I had surgery a few months ago but that was to remove small cysts and adhesions.
They did say if I had bowel endo I would have to stay in hospital a 5 day minimum. And liquids only diet 2 wks or so to make sure the bowel was completely sealed again. They know more about nutrition post op than any other team I've ever worked with.
We thought I had bowel endo due to my symptoms but when we got into the area there was just a lot of adhesions and endo in the cul de sac that was swelling up and pushing on my bowel. You can join Nancy's Nook on FB and ask them for personal experiences w bowel endo there. I obviously felt Dr. Sinervo's team was very qualified or I wouldn't have chosen them since we thought I had it. Looks like my best friend may have it and she is currently scheduling with Dr. Sinervo. She also has a lot of other issues like fibroids, bi cornate uterus, adenomyosis suspected etc. Also if u search on you tube one of Dr. Sinervo and Dr. Albee's (now retired) patients made a documentary for her final project that is pretty informative. I have Dr. Martin Robbins in Scarborough, Maine is very good with a great bowel team too but it was way too far for me to consider.
