The toughest part for me was staying down for a few days after, and the post surgical pain from the gas movement. During surgery gas (I believe usually CO2) is used to distend the abdomen so the doc can see better. This gas is not harmful, but what's left in there after surgery has to go somewhere. It is slowly reabsored by the body, but not before moving around- usually up into the upper abdomen/chest... That hurt me worse than incisions or anything. Just breathe through it and try to (gently!) move around to break it up.
Heating pad and keep up with pain meds. It took me about 5 days average to return to my job that requires a lot of physical activity... But I went back too soon both times and paid for it... So definitely take at least a week off if possible.
Oh and be careful with your seat belt.. Ouch. Lol
Best of luck!

Drink lots of water with mint in after to help ease the gas pain x

I was advised, even though it would be uncomfortable, to start walking the day after surgery. My husband and I took short walks sporadically during the day, and it really helped to release that CO2 gas.
My stomach was very distended the days following the procedure, but i felt back to my normal size in about 7 days.
Also, be sure to hold a pillow against your belly if you feel the need to sneeze or cough!
Wishing you all the best, and I hope the procedure helps you to find some relief!

After your surgery try taking Activated Charcoal tablets... it absorbs all the gas. I was very uncomfortable after mine but no pain. Stay strong!

Hello! My husband and I have been trying for over 5 years to get pregnant and finally seeked the help of a specialist in Arkansas while living there this past year for hubs military training, I saw the Dr 2 times before he scheduled my surgery, they were able to schedule the day of my second appointment. I would definitely touch base with your doc and see if they know anything yet. I will say a heating pad will be your best friend. Don't try to over do it, sitting up is painful, so is standing lol I spent a good 4 days in bed. But plus side 3 months after surgery I found out I was pregnant :) 32 weeks currently with a healthy baby boy! Due February this year. It's scary but I had a great doctor and nursing staff that helped ease my worries. Don't be afraid to speak up and ask any questions you have, they shouldn't hesitate to answer. Good luck my dear!! The second week after surgery when the pain is gone, you'll be amazed at how great you feel lol
