Hello. You sound very concerned and I'm sorry your search for relief hasn't been well. I have a different perspective. Not sure if it is helpful to you, but...

I did not have endo prior to my hysterectomy. I got a LAVH (total, removed uterus, cervix) in 2012 due to three large fibroidfibroid tumors that were causing many issues. Pain, discomfort, issues with bladder, felt like I was in labor constantly. One was against my bladder, one on my cervix, and one pressing on my spine.

In 2014 I began again having problems: bleeding like a light period, bad bloating, pain, discomfort, headaches, pain during sex... The doctor told me at first I needed psychological help and it was all in my head. Then at a later appointment, she saw a spot on my vaginal cuff (where they stiched me up) and said huh, that's not right... After a biopsy that was inconclusive, she told me I had endo. The endo was most likely caused by the scarring FROM the hysterectomy.

Not trying to scare you, and everyone has a different experience, but it is possible to end up worse after a hysterectomy. And there is still possibility for ovarian and endometrial cancer afterwards.

I had my hysterectomy may 8th of this year after having suffered with endometriosis since I was 14 and i'm 42 now. I had 12 laps plus every other treatment and at the end my pain was a 10 daily . Since my hysterectomy I've been pain free except for the usual recovery pain!! I had both my uterus and cervix removed but unfortunately because I was feeling so good I over did it and broke a blood vessel in my vagina and almost hemorrhaged to death 4 weeks after the surgery. Since then I've been taking things very easy. I honestly think it was the best decision ever. I wish you all the luck!!

Hi! I hope you are feeling well and wanted to give you a quick update since more time has passed. Occasionally I feel a twinge of pain similar to endo belly but it never lasts longer than 10 minutes and because it is so brief I sometimes wonder if it is phantom pain lol. Overall I am 99.5% better than before my hysterectomy. I also wanted to let you know if you have any other questions I can maybe help with please feel free to reach out to me.

I had hysterectomy in 2002. That kind a pain was more bearable than endometris pain anyday. Felt great for many years after.... Currently the last three to five years I've been having more issues with abdominal area pain and cramping, nausea, and fatigue so I decide to search about it coming back after hysterectomy. Uncertain. Sorry if wrong area new to site. Thank you

I'm not "very concerned". It sounds like you kind of got the wrong idea. I provided my backstory to tell people why I'm asking what I'm asking. I'm sorry, but I'm not someone that snowballs my experience in my life. While my health is unfortunate, I don't freak out about it. It actually bothers me a little that you would say that when you really don't know me at all. I would have appreciated if you could just have answered my questions. Of course I know that someone could end up worse afterwards, but it's really all about the numbers. Scary anecdotes don't really help me to make an informed decision, or anyone else. I really don't understand why someone replies if they're not replying in the way the person asked. If the question doesn't apply to you, perhaps there's somewhere better to comment.
