Fertility And Endo
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hey ladies,
Just wondered if there are success stories with being able to have a baby? I know fertility is a big question when you are told you have endo i just wondered if anyone managed to get pregnant easy or needed more help? Like tablets or surgery
Thanks, kels xx

I was diagnosed in 2011 after my first child. I had 2 surgeries, and the doctor told me it's easiest to conceive after a laparoscopic operation. I got pregnant with my 2nd son 7 months after my 2nd surgery where my doctor removed 46 spots. I had a few complications in my second pregnancy, but it is possible. After my first surgery, my first doctor told me hysterectomy was the only option. I'm so glad I got a second opinion and had another surgery because I would not have my second son had I listened!

It took me 3 years of trying naturally and 3 years with a fertilty dr. Ivf finally worked and i have an 8 month old. It is possible. I know people with endo that have no problems having children and i know people like me who had to go the route of ivf.

One of the reasons it is so hard for us endo warriors to conceive is because endo makes our organs inflamed, making conception difficult. If you can have your endo excised by an excision specialist it might be easier to concieve. Please check out my bio. There are some great articles to learn more about our awful disease. If we are able to rid ourselves of the endo then we won't have the recurrence of symptoms after giving birth enabling us to be the best mothers possible. I wish getting pregnant cured endo, but it doesn't. It may mask the symptoms while pregnant, but after birth symptoms can come back with a vengeance. I can't imagine trying to take care of a little one when I can't move from the pain I'm in. I'm so sorry you are dealing with this <3

Unfortunately I've not found it so easy but sometimes it helps 2 hear all angles! I have stage 4 and have been trying 4 nearly 4 years. After my last lap 2 remove the endo over a year ago they said I should b able 2 conceive naturally but that didn't happen. I was told I'd need ivf as I also had a diminished egg reserve (prone endo related 2) Unfortunately my 1st round didn't work but am going 2 try again next month. I now have accupuncture and take dhea and coq10 which r supposed 2 help with egg quality. Sorry this post isn't as positive as the others but I'm still hopeful it will happen and my advice would b find a fertility specialist if u want 2 start trying, hopefully it will happen naturally but it won't hurt 2 get some advice and know where 2 turn if it doesn't, good luck xx
