I Hope This Isn't Too Personal But I Was Wondering How Old You Ladies Were When You Got Diagnosed ?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm 23 and have had almost every test in the book to try and figure out why I'm always so exhausted, have bladder/pelvic/bladder/intestinal pain. I've been told it's an overactive bladder and food in tolerances because all of my tests come back normal . I'm so discouraged that im afraid to go for diagnostics because I don't want to feel like I went for nothing. I'm supposed to go Monday for a second opinion but I'm so nervou . Any similar experiences?

Unless you have Endometrioma's (or known as Chocolate cysts) they cant pick up Endometriosis unless you have a Laporoscopy. Not all Endo sufferers have Endometrioma's.... So find a doctor willing to do a Laporoscopy! I was only diagnosed when much older (33), I always thought my "issues" were normal, unfortunately, it was so advanced - Stage 4 already! A friend was diagnosed at 14. So get diagnosed sooner rather than later.

I was diagnosed at age 21. Two days after my big birthday to be exact. My advice for you is to keep looking for a better doctor. I had one that kept telling me my cysts were normal until I had one under his care. I switched to a doctor referred to me by a friend and his first words upon meeting him was only I can tell him what's going on in my body. I filled him in on everything and he said we will start at point A and go from there. That was in Oct of 03. By Feb 04 he scheduled my lap surgery. Trust that there are doctors who truly know more about endo

I am 34 and was only diagnosed last year. I suffered with terrible periods from the beginning. I suspected it for several years, but didn't get very far. After having an appendectomy that showed cysts covering the appendix, my gynecologist was finally convinced iced. She did a laparoscopy that showed severe endometriosis, and I ended up having a hysterectomy and 4 hour long excision surgery. I pray you get answers soon.
