Have Any Of You Ladies Been Diagnosed With Adenomyosis?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was curious if any of you ladies have some feedback on those who've been diagnosed with adenomyosis. Basically known as uterine endometriosis. It affects the muscles in the uterus. During menses little pockets in the uterus fill with blood, causing the uterus to become very inflamed and contract. Thus, causing it to feel like your uterus is falling out. Consistently feeling like there's a bowling ball sitting on bowel and urinary wall. If you have feedback, treatment options you've tried. I… read more

I have been diagnosed with it. It has become quite severe. There is no further treatment options they can give me except a hysterectomy. I do not have children but I am booked to have a hysterectomy on the 20th of April. i just can't bear the pain anymore. It is so intense. i also bleed for between 7-11 days. I have a merina in and i am on Visanne tablets. Both should have stopped my bleeding but nothing has been able to stop it. It shows quite a large area on my uterus that is affected on ultrasound.

I have never seen adenomyosis explained that way! But it totally explains one of my period symptoms of feeling like my uterus is literally falling out and not being able to stand for longer than 5 minutes for 2 days during the start of my period. These particular symptoms started after my second child but I did have 3 miscarriages before having my two children so I’ve had issues for awhile. I did have an hsg x-ray and got pregnant not long after that and it has been said that that procedure can clear out your tubes. I almost think that’s what finally helped me. I have no definitive proof of that though. Wishing you luck!

I have the biggest feeling if I can have children, it will be very difficult. I feel like it's a now or never. So that makes me very overwhelmed and sad. My mom had me at 22 and then got so sick, so she had a hysterectomy. I'm going on 26, and feel I've waited too long now. 😞

I was diagnosed with adeno after I had my second child. I had bled for 5and a half months straight before I switched Drs and got it taken care of. I didn't know I had it at the time but it was hard to conceive and it was even harder for my body to carry my children. My body started rejecting the babies at 18 weeks along so it was a fight to keep them in. Both came early and both spent time in the nicu. after my second I was told my body would not hold up through another pregnancy. I had the mirena whiched caused such a bad infection it damaged my uterus and from that point on my only option with that And the endo and adeno was a hysterectomy. I'm 24 years old and had a total abdominal hysterectomy 7 weeks ago.currently I'm still having issues. But when the pathology report camd back he said he knew i had it but it just confirmed it and it was A really bad case of it.
