Back in September I had surgery. It didn't help at all actually made it 10 times worse. They are wanting me to try the Lupron shot to see if it will help but I have only heard negative things about. I just want to know first hand how it makes your body feel? Also how long does it take for it to start working?
I have only done 1 three month shot-it was awful. I saw no reduction in pain although according to CT scans my endometrioma did shrink, but another one was found a few days later. I had extreme nausea, hot and cold flashes, extreme depression and mood swings, heartburn, dry hair and skin, and terrible brain fog-I have gotten so bad at recalling names or certain words! I refused the second and am now going to Dr. Sinervo in Atlanta in May for surgery.
I've also done 3 rounds at 6 months each of Lupron. But during my time of it, I was miserable more than not. It never helped and on top of not helping I had like severe hot flashes that would make me dizzy I would get so hot.
I have been on Lupron also, 3 rounds (I believe) for 6 month spans and for me, personally, I thought it helped a lot: the pain was gone every month - Yeah, but the side effects that came with it: hot flashes, night sweats, headaches, moodiness, lack of concentration and also being told by the doctor, that this was a drug used for cancer patients - Boo! < That was well over 12 years ago, I will never go on it again...
Thank you!
I was on Lupron for 9 months and it did help with the pain . Downside was the hot flashes , mood swings and depressed all the time . I would never go back on it but my doctor said it would put more time on my watch so I can have kids . Wasn't ready after my 2 surgeries but I am now. Been off Lupron for a year and it's been hard to conceive . When I took Lupron I gained about 15 pounds . After I took it and seeing what it has done to others I wouldn't go back on it .
