I am on day 5 of post op from a laparoscopic vaginal assisted hysterectomy. The pain is worse today then any other day, is that normal?

I have heard the best way to drain the gas is to lay with your rearend higher than your head using pillows. If you aren't already, you might consider a post op supportive garment that is stronger or has an option for additional support which you can order online? (I am not familiar with hystos so this might be obvious) also be sure to check out the forum hysto sisters they can surely help you with their wealth of knowledge!

Could be gas. The post op pain from gas is hardly ever discussed. Mine was awful but it should pass in a few weeks.

Make sure you keep up with the stool softeners and lots of water. I had good days and bad days of pain.
