Pain
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've had Endometriosis since I was 16 years-old, I was officially diagnosed with Endo around the age 23/24 years-old, I do wish to have children, but I now have a full-time job. Part-time jobs, when I experience Endo pains, were easier for me, but the income was impossible to receive for me on my end
I've tried about everything over the counter. (The list of what I have tried and the results are below.) I have had four different OBGYNs helping me with this (2 doctors retired and my insurance… read more

I have had surgery to find out that I have Endometriosis, inside both ovaries (not blocking anything though) and in my upper uterus (though on a main vein). I do have the documents from the surgery, including photos, but to remove all of it results in a hysterectomy, removing both ovaries and uterus, which is not on my list of priorities at the second (due to wishing to have children, at least one in the future, plus recovery time, time needed for all of this, and all the money for the hysterectomy, it is too complex for me right now).
So, for me, to remove this will be to remove everything; I have been doing my research to this date, and my doctors do tell me this as well, for me, Hysterectomies are not a cure procedure for Endometriosis, but it is an option for treatment with Endometriosis, for 50/50 chances are, Endometriosis can grow back, not always, but there is no such guarantee that Endometriosis can grow back. When I was explained this by my doctors, each of them, seeing the information for myself, if I did remove all my reproductive organs, if the Endometriosis did come back for me, where else would this reappear? I told each of my doctors, seeing this as pros and cons, I really do not want any such procedure due to the many reasons I have "against the procedure" over "for the procedure." I've only been in this one surgery since, and it is just the pain caused by the Endometriosis that I have that, in other words, stops me in my tracks from doing everything that I wish I could do.

The pain impacts me day-to-day, usually when I first wake, then again around 12:00pm-2:30pm it can start up again, then it will happen toward 7:00pm, but recently, the waking in the middle of the night due to severe pains, that one does impact me the most, in my opinion. I wake super early for a full-time job, waking in the middle of the night due to severe pains doesn't help me get back to sleep right away.
