I am 19 Weeks post op.of a total hysterectomy. Jad everything removed except my right ovary. Has anyone had severe pain during intercourse after a hysterectomy? It hurts so bad that I dread sex. I sometimes even cry. I need help.

i have never had children or a hysterectomy but I have terrible pain during sex. I am lucky I have a bf who understands a lot of what I am going through but it's awful. I was hoping a laparoscopy might have relieved symptoms for me a bit but now I'm not so sure reading these stories.

I also just had a hysterectomy, Nov. 21st. Like you they took everything minus ovaries. My surgery was robotic laparoscopy and my gyn said to wait 8 wks for sex but it's only been about 6 and sex is painful for me too and it's painful for my husband. He said that he feels what he thinks are stitches or something and it stabs him. But I don't know why it's so painful, I'm healed from the surgery and no longer have as severe endo pain as before, the only thing that hurts is the sex. If I ever get to talk to my Dr or if we find a way to make it hurt less I'll let you know. Sorry I'm sure this doesn't help much.
Good luck
