Hi, Endo Sisters! I was wondering if anyone could share what has helped you in working with doctors to get a definitive diagnosis? I had a laparoscopy in July 2016 that revealed stage II inflammatory endometriosis. The surgeon excised all that he could find, but my symptoms post-surgery have persisted and worsened. The surgeon suggested I make sure there were no other causes for the symptoms, so I have gone to doctors in other fields to explore that. Nearly all the tests for other causes have… read more
U r welcome. Remember everyone's case is different, there is no set of standards with this disease. For some endo does not come back quickly, in my case it does. I was diagnosed about 12 years ago. Good luck with your symptoms and everything, the key is finding a good dr!
A laproscopic surgery will not help with adenomyosis, its a condition thay wont go away until you have your uterus removed. As far as for the endo, surgery helps me for awhile but now im averaging one surgery a year
The only way to trully diagnose adenomyosis is to have your uterus removed and tested. So most drs can just assume you have it based on your symptoms. My dr diagnosed me with it after my last laproscopy. She didnt remove my uterus but she said jt showed signs of it. As fat as endo the only true way to diagnose is through surgery as well. Your endo could verywell be coming back
I'm so sorry that you've had to go through so many surgeries and for the persistent symptoms with the adenomyosis. I've been told that my endometriosis could not come back so fast, and I don't know all the details of your situation, but your sharing gives me something new to consider. I am sending you hope and my best. Thank you so much again.
Thank you for your answer, @A MyEndometriosisTeam Member. Having adenomyosis, did the @ laparoscopy make any difference in how you feel now, better, worse, or the same? My surgeon said I would know when to come back for another surgery because the symptoms would come back, but my symptoms never went away in the first place; in fact, they got much worse. Just trying to make some sense of things. So appreciate your feedback.
