The closest cure for Endo is natural menopause or surgical menopause, having the ovaries removed. Ovaries are predominantly responsible for Estrogen which is what Endo needs to grow. "Fuel for the fire".
Our Pituitary Gland in our brain continues to produce a small amount of estrogen even after menopause but they say not enough to actively continue Endo to grow. I've also read studies that say they believe that some endometrial lesions outside the uterus can develop their own estrogen supply. I believe this is why Endo is so difficult to treat, and the treatments so difficult to tolerate.
Just removing the uterus can be greatly effective for fibroids, heavy bleeding, adnomyosis (growth of endometrial tissue in the muscle of the uterus) but doesn't help the issue of Endo in all other places in the abdominal cavity and its response to estrogen produced by the ovaries.

I have stage 4 endometriosis diagnosed 5 years after hysterectomy; adhesiolysis and BSO were done at surgery confirming diagnosis. Unopposed estrogen attributed to continued deep endometriosis. Now on 200 mg natural progesterone troches daily (to prevent endometriosis and put the rest in remission) plus natural estradiol by patch and cream and natural 2% testosterone following excision of endometriosis and adhesiolysis Im doing better. I am fighting adhesion formation with weekly bodywork from my PT and MFR/LMT trauma therapist.

I have had severe endo for 30 yrs - after my 8th lap i decided on a hyster, the endo grew back within 3 months - ive had two more laps since (annually) and they have removed endo every time. No matter what it grows back:/ please bear in mind hyster does not cure endo. It does cure adenomyosis thooygh , which i also had, so have managed to get rid of one disease.
