Does anyone suffer from upper right side abdominal pain that is below the rib cage? It feels like it throbs or spasms. I know it's not appendix or gallbladder since they both have been previously removed. Is this just another sign of endometriosis or can it also be adhesions from my previous surgery. Any ideas??
I get this all the time! Couple of times it was that bad made me pass out. Was told could be endo on my ribs but they won't do anymore surgery on me and because I've had hysterectomy they tend to just throw the "it's in your head" at me which is so frustrating!!
I was having pain, nausea, vomitting, everything like i had with the gallbadder. I went to the ER cuz the pain was soo bad and i couldnt stop vomitting. The ER thought it was kidney stones. They did a ct scan and saw i had some ovarian cysts. So they called my gyne. My gyne treated me for that, but i was still having the same symptoms. It got to the point where i couldnt eat and my stomach felt like it was one fire. My gyne suggested i see a GI dr. So i went to a specialist in my area who actually treated my mom for the same. The dr did a bunch of bloodwork. That didnt really show much so then they did a mri of the abdomen, that only showed the cysts. So he then did an ercp, which is a special kind of endoscopy. He suspected it was sphincter of oddi dysfunction, and during my procedure he tested the sphincter of oddi and mine wasnt working properly so he clipped it and put in a temporary stent. One of the risks of the procedure is pancreatitis, of course i got it. But it was cured after a week and i was fine after that
Dnotko, Thank you. What kind of test did they give you to find out? What other symptoms did you have if you don't mind me asking.
If it mimics gallbadder could be sphincter of oddi dysfunction. I had that about a year after my gallbadder was removed and my gi went in and clipped it since it was not working properly. My mom had it happen after her gallbadder as well. U might want to research it. I also get that kind of pain when i have ovarian cysts on the right side
