When I get sick I get it much worse and longer than most people
Yes! I hate getting sick because it always seems to hit me harder than people around me who get sick. I grew up with a mother who has a compromised immune system so I always suspected I was just weak from not being exposed to alot of normal germs on a regular basis. . . Idk if I'm correct at all though. It just seems like endo has made me really sensitive all around. Do any of you who get sicker than other people find that you have developed more food sensitivities over time as well? I wouldn't be surprised if this was a trend in ladies with endo.
Yes, but I'm also hypoglycemic, so I have a weakened immune system.
Hi OlviaIrene-
Yes, I feel like my immune system is generally weaker since having endo, and also with being on continuous birth control pills for about 4 years now. I catch things easier and they stay around longer. I think many women with endo experience this. I try to do as much as I can to support my immune system like diet, walking exercise, not traveling much in the winter, taking vitamins, and doing yoga, meditation. Having this illness has taught me to be better at taking care of myself over all. I still have work to do, because I find myself still working/pushing too hard with my job. The added stress has a huge impact on my endo and my immune system functioning.
