Members shared varied experiences with laparoscopic surgery incision placement, with most reporting that surgeons typically create new incisions rather than reopening old ones, though practices differ by doctor and procedure type. Several members noted that while the belly button is almost always used as an entry point across multiple surgeries, reopening previous scars often led to significantly worse pain and slower recovery compared to fresh incisions. A recurring theme was that new incisions tend to heal faster and hurt less, with members expressing relief that the quick healing process means scars fade relatively well over time.

I have had 3 laparoscopies 2 for endometriosis and 1 for a salpingectomy after I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy and each times the drs have gone in different places on my abdomen.

Well I've done Lupron treatment Twice before a shot every month and now I just started it again. The only problem I had is the very bad hot flashes. Now this 3rd time I had a very bad flare up and I'm not sure was it from the shot because ever since the end of last year I've been getting flare ups very frequently. And this 3rd time of treatment is every 3months instead of every month. And they also have a pill to help with the side effects but I haven't taken any because of their side effects! So I can't say I've experience anything bad from Lupron! Best of Luck ladies

I would say new ones are better because they heal faster.

They will always go through your belly button
But they usually make new incisions instead of opening old ones. I have had multiple laps and they always made new incisions
