Hi everyone! I had a laparoscopy on May 19th that confirmed what I already suspected: I have stage 1 endo. A week after the surgery, I got my period and it lasted 7 days. Two days later, I started bleeding again and haven't stopped for over 5 weeks now (6 1/2 including the original 7 days). I went to two gynecologists (one who did the surgery and a new one who supposedly specializes in endo) and both said that this sometimes happens to patients after their surgery. It's been a few weeks since… read more

Thank you for posting this question. I didn't know a heavy period was normal after surgery. I've been on loestrin since my last lap in february, and my first period lasted two weeks. The doctor had me double up the daily dose of loestrin for a week, which terrified me due to increased risk of blood clots, but I was desperate for relief. It worked in stopping the period. I still have daily vaginal discharge that inconvenient and interferes with sex but is thankfully painless.

I'm coming to the conclusion that I hate loestrin. Between the eternal period, gross discharge, and having no feelings whatsoever like a Vulcan on Star Trek, I"m no fan.

i was diagnosed with stage 3, had my laparoscopy in Feb. a week later had a bit of spotting and clots. But i've had light bleeding since end of March. thank goodness theres no pain, but definately bloating. it will continue for a week or 2 then stop for a day and a half then suddenly start again. i am not on any contraceptive in order to fall pregnant. But i'm concerned about the bleeding and Doctor tells me its nothing to be worried about....
