Dr. Wants to try lupron. It's super expensive so why don't I just get a hysterectomy and get it all over with.
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member Will do sisπππ. Thank you.
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member PLEASE thoroughly research Lupron prior to getting the injection. Ultimately YOU have to decide. It's very expensive & has some irreversible side effects and does NOT cure Endo. Dr.s also receive huge kickbacks when they get patients to take Lupron. I am yet to meet a physician who has taken Lupron.
Do a lot of research on Lupron. It has helped some women but most have terrible side-effects. the worst one for me was memory loss - severe. I have very few memories of my youngest as a toddler due to it. I grieve that loss to this day. Hysterectomy is not always a cure either. New research says that exicision surgery is the best treatment but there is no one around me who is an expert at it. I guess I keep hoping when I am finally in menopause, some of the agony will be over - at least the horrible period pain will be gone.
Tess, Please keep me posted how you are doing. I want to know how it all works for you. Fingers crossed for a successful surgery. -Susan
Unfortunately no medication has helped. I was prescribed norethindrone (I was on several other bcp prior to this that did nothing & made me worse & ill). The last drug was megace or megestrol. Horrible experience! Oncologist gyn told me to cease meds if it wasn't helping me. I experienced almost every adverse reaction including blurry vision for over 2 wks! Waiting on surgery (less than 6wks away). Visiting surgeon on 10/2 to ask a few inquiries & decline presacral neurectomy.
