Laproscopy - No Endo Found?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi everyone, I’m struggling a lot right now. I have had all of the textbook symptoms of endometriosis for at least 6-7+ years now. Severe pelvic pain, mood swings, nausea, exhaustion, sometimes even vomiting and numbness in the legs. I have been on 8 birth controls in a year and a half. I had laproscopic surgery in April of this year to finally diagnose endometriosis..and he found nothing. I was devastated because I left the hospital with no answers and yet another birth control prescription… read more

My first laproscopic surgery did not find endo, but my second surgery did and confirmed with a biposy. I know it can be discouraging when you are told that nothing was found. I agree with the other response. Find someone who specializes in endo. Many doctors have limited knowledge or are not up to date with current research and findings

I had a similar experience over the last year I had two surgeries and both time told it was all in my head. During my second surgery they even took pictures and still told me there was nothing wrong with me. I then fought to see a doctor specialising in endometriosis and she took one look at the pictures and said you have endometriosis. During my third surgery this year they found heaps of endometriosis. It is hard sometimes for inexperienced people to find and is easily missed. I knew all along there was something wrong with me, despite people telling me otherwise. But it still really hurt to hear this from people including loved ones. My advice in the meantime it is not to give up, what are experiencing is real!

Find someone who specializes in endo my I recently switched doctors because my other one acted like there were no options and he said that sometimes endometriosis doesn't appear how it's supposed to look he said a lot of times that it can be clear or transparent and if you're not experienced then you'd never even know!! I definitely recommend a second opinion! I hope you find everything you're looking for!

Yeah to have surgery and take months to fully recover, expecting an answer and leaving with nothing but another prescription that won’t work...shittiest feeling ever. I hope you find your answers soon!
