Currently Have A Mirena + Taking Primolut And Norimin, Is It Worth Having A Mirena?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I had a mirena inserted a few months ago. I tried stopping the pill after having it in and was experiencing to much pain, so went back on it. After a few weeks the bleeding and pain came back so my Dr put me on Norimin as well as the primolut, because she thinks the lining of my uterus is to thin. The bleeding has stopped, but I do have some spotting and pain. I honestly don't want to have to take all these pill + have the mirena, but I don't know what to do? :(

It could take your body a full year to adjust to the mirena. Most women it only takes 6-8 months though and their periods stop completely. So if you can bear it, I would maybe give your body a little more time to adjust to it and let it take it's full effect.

I have had the mirena for 2 weeks and fortunately, it is going well for me. However, my Gyny told me it can take anywhere up to a year for it to fully kick in for other women. I still have flare up days but it is more lower back pain which constantly accompanied my endo pain.

I have purchased a TENS machine which really helps me with natural pain relief. Traditionally the TENS machine was used as a natural pain relief for women giving birth so it is safe. My Gyny confirmed it was safe for me to use it. But you may want to check with your gyny or GP before considering if you want to try it.

It might help your pain until the Mirena fully kicks in. 🤔

Before purchasing, please note, there are machines called the Ovira and similar devices that are being sold as natural pain relief for period cramps but these machines are essentially the same as a TENS machine. I found the machines like Ovira don't have high enough of a setting to relieve pain and are so expensive compared to a traditional TENS machine.

I purchased my TENS machine for $35 on Amazon Prime and am really pleased with the pain relief I get from it.

I hope this helps you out. Hang in there! You are such a strong woman for getting this far. You have the strength to keep going!
