Has Anyone Else Experienced Prolonged Bleeding While On The Pill?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

This is my second time trying this pill and the idea is to skip the sugar pill twice them have peroid as a way of "controlling" the development of more endo- however I don't stop bleeding! I've had internal and external ultrasounds again to rule out anything else, but it's the second time is happened on the pill. Has any one else experienced anything like it? 😣

When I tried doing continuous birth control (skipping sugar pills to avoid period) I experienced breakthrough bleeding every time and it would last for weeks until I stopped taking the pill for a few days allowing myself to have a full bleed and then continued the pill. My body just couldn't handle the continuous pill. Maybe the pill isn't strong enough for you or perhaps you could try an iud to stop your period?

I was on Seasonique, (supposed to only have 4 periods a year) and had the worst period of my life. My period started six-weeks into my first 3-month pack. It lasted 21 days, and I had a huge tissue discharge near the end.
I’m now during my sugar pill week, and have slight spotting, and terrible pain.
I’ve not had a good experience with the pill.

My gynaecologist prescribed an IUD, so I’ll be switching to that next week.

Hope you find something that works for you 🙂❤️

I went through six different pills over a period of two years because of this same break through bleeding before dining a pill that worked. I just started Daysee which is a three month pill and it worked for me. When I did finally get my period it was a nightmare in terms of pain.

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member I'm not taking the sugar pills at all.
Hopefully I get some answers at my appointment tomorrow!

Both my gynaecologists have said to skip the sugar pills especially if diagnosed with endometriosis. And if you have breakthrough bleeding in the first few months it's typically normal but after that means the pill is not strong enough for you :) hope that helps
