Hi everyone I'm new on here, my name is Alisha I'm 19 years old and have been suffering with endometriosis from a very young age but was always told by doctors is was just period pains and growing pains. I self diagnosed myself when I found out about endometriosis as I had every symptom on the list. After 2 years of waiting I finally got seen by a gynaecologist and was sent for a laparoscopy where they did in fact find a lot of endometriosis. However it's been 10 months since my lap and my pains… read more
Good luck girl! I hope you are able to find something that works for you. Its not an easy battle but dont give up. You are a warrior and you have a strong support system with us girls who understand what youre going through ❤️
I know what your going through bc I have been there. The best advise I can give is to find a good dr. who can help you. Heating pads is about all that helps me. Sometimes if I elevate my legs , I have a wedge pillow for ppl with spine problems & I rest my legs on it & it kind of relieves the pressure. Drinking something hot like tea or coffee sometimes makes me feel better. Well I wish you the best. Get on line & do your homework & look up dr.s in your area & get reviews. That's what I do when i'm looking for one but all the endo docs are a distance for me to drive. Hugs Tigreyes
I'm sorry to hear what your going through. When you have a surgery it sometimes causes adhesions or sometimes the endo comes back. I've delt with this all my life & had multiple surgerys & it still comes back. Talk to your dr & see what they think. Your so young so I hope the dr can help you. You have our support if you have any questions. Best of luck & Welcome to our site. hugs tigreyes
Hey girl! I know how tough it is to be a young woman with endometriosis. Im 21 and i can relate so closely to you with how much this disease affects my life day to day from my social life, to school and work and my relationship. Its definitely not easy. Make sure you are taking care of your mental health and see a counsellor/therapist if you feel the need and get on some medication as it can be soooo so helpful. As for your pain, there are birth control methods that can alleviate symptoms, acupuncture, an anti-inflammatory diet and pelvic physiotherapy! My endospecialist has recommended i try the physio because many women with endo struggle with pelvicfloor dysfunctio
Hi sister,
Pain meds :/ but you have to be extremely careful not to get addicted to them and only take them when pain is unbearable! A lot of people have used acupuncture to relieve pain. You can also try CBD oil. For anxiety and drepression you should really see a therapist as stress makes endo so much worse!! I also battled anxiety and depression along with endo. I take 50mg zoloft everyday and i do not have anxiety or drepression. It is a big decision to make to be on an antianxiety or depression medication as it alters your brain chemistry. But I can say that they literally have changed my life for the better! I just wanted to share with you becasue talking about depression qnd treatments can be taboo, but i am right there with you ( just a little older, 29,) but i suffered from anxiety/depression at 19 and wish i woukd have been medicated then. Let me know if you have any questions for me! <3
