I am scheduled to have a laparoscopic surgery to diagnose endometriosis on March 12. I recently discontinued seeing one surgeon for his lack of empathy in regards to me as a patient. His incisions he said would be 5mm in diameter and would be closed using a glue. The new surgeon I am scheduled to see while for empathetic and detailed in his discussion of endometriosis says that his incisions are closed with dissolving sutures also 5mm in diameter. I think it's a personal choice, what they like to use better
I had surgery with glued incisions. The incision healed very fast and never bothered me. The scar is also barely visible.
I think it’s just personal preference. But I’ve heard a lot of women having an allergic reaction to the glue. I had the dissolvable stitches. The only problem I had was one of the stitches wasn’t cut short enough and kept poking me. But I just went back and he trimmed it. Any doctor will be able to do that if you need it.
