It takes me at least a week, of not two, each time I have one. The diagnostic one was the easiest because they didn't remove anything. They just looked and did like one biopsy. Perhaps have someone watch your puppy for you or have them boarded at a doggy daycare where you know they will get play and usually you can watch them online :) I just had my hysterectomy laprascopically too. I have a puppy and another high energy dog. I've needed my mom to stay with us for a week. The first two days was mostly to help me and the animals. But now, it's pretty much just to take care of the dogs because I'm not allowed to go up and down the stairs a bunch of times a day.

I wouldn't worry. It's a day surgery. You can go back to work the next day. I was feeling fine a week after.

You need a least a week of rest without much activity after a lap. The first couple of days you can't move much. The worst thing for me was the pain from the gas the use to inflate your abdomen. It moves around and at times feels like someone is trying to break your collarbone.

After a week you can move around ok, so if you don't have to do any lifting (this includes groceries btw) you should be fine to get back to work depending on your pain tolerance. Me personally I was up and about on my second week but I could only manage short walks and I still felt quite tired.

The lap was definitely worth it for me however. It made a huge difference to my life after I recovered so if you have endo I highly recommend it. But be prepared to have 2 weeks off. Its better to have the extra time and not use it than not have it and need it.

Also it takes about 6 weeks to fully recover so have a light duties plan in place.

I had a very different experience and was laid up for about 2 weeks after my surgery.it was totally worth it but I didn’t bounce back as I expected to. I think recovery really depends on what they find and where it’s located. Is there anyone who could help with some of this- even just the dog walking- for the first few days?
