@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member I was on visanne for 2.5 years.... I find it very odd you were only on it for 3 months and it’s yet to return 3 months later. Have you asked your doctor about it?

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member yes it was the most painful period I’ve had in my entire life. It got better each cycle afterwards but I made significant changes to diet and lifestyle which I’m sure contributed to the improvements.

Mine came back at the 3 week mark. I’ve read others it takes up to 4 weeks. My doctor told me it takes up to 2 months for the drug to leave your system.

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member have you not had any surgeries yet for your endo? Many women can get away with only having one and there are ways to manage the scar tissue like pelvic floor PT or an osteopath trained in visceral manipulation. Get the endo cleaned out, see a naturopath, and focus on managing the endo free state for as long as you can. Many of the women who go through multiple surgeries either get botched surgeries or change nothing and expect a different result post op. We have to take care of ourselves with this disease being incurable. We can’t rely on the doctors to just make it all go away with surgery and pills. This is my advice anyways.

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member Yea, most doctors feel the same way. I've had a specialist tell me that there is no pill I haven't tried and she suggested an IUD. However with a progesterone sensitivity my other doc has been very specific about staying away from it as progesterone tends to give me hella horrible mood swings, anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts. I suspect it's PMDD. So there's that little problem :D I've actually been wondering if a naturopath isn't a better solution than Gyne's and Specialists. The feedback I've gotten from most ladies after excision is that it's initially better but scar tissue can be a problem and the pain returns as well as the Endo. So I'm very much in two minds about how to manage the Endo. I'm so happy to hear Visanne worked for you and that you were able to conceive. That's wonderful!

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member Really?? My doc didn't mention that at all and it's now nearly 3 months to the date that I stopped taking Visanne and still NO period. Do you perhaps know if the period of time you were taking Visanne affects the duration of it actually leaving your system? @A MyEndometriosisTeam Member I was on Visanne for 3 months before it made me batsh*t crazy :D And it's now nearly 3 months since I stopped it and NO period. I've been doing research and asking fellow Visanne takers on forums if they have any clue if it's normal but unfortunately no one seems to know. It's a tricky one. The majority all had their periods return within the first 4 weeks after quitting it.
