Has Anyone Been Able To Conceive Naturally After Endometrioma Removal?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have 2 Endometriomas on my left ovary. After removal, I’m worried about ovarian reserve. Has anyone been able to conceive naturally after laparoscopy with endometrioma removal? Or was it necessary to go through IUI/IFV?

Hey hun, in 2014 I had a laparoscopy and after recovery I lived on pain meds with no other meds. I conceived naturally at the end of 2015. It was extremely hard to deal with but I pushed through. I know this disease we live with is emotionally draining but there is hope. Hang in there :)

My Dr. explained to me within 3 months after laparoscopy is when you're most likely to conceive. It's because your body doesn't have the endo there causing the issues, and your hormones are high after as well.

I conceived very quickly after endo removal! My surgeon told me to try right after my 6 week recovery. Got pregnant first try

I didn't. My laparscopy was in October 2011 and I had an ultrasound scan a few weeks later and the endometrioma had come back. That ovary is completely useless now and I am lucky that my right ovary appears to be unaffected. Not that lucky though as 13 years on still no baby and now with Covid-19 and NHS waiting lists it's shifted to 14 years in the blink of an eye - these next few months are going to be very hard for me while I just wait it out.
