Members shared varied timelines for when they felt ready to drive after laparoscopy, ranging from a few days to two weeks, with most emphasizing the importance of feeling physically comfortable and able to perform an emergency stop before getting behind the wheel. Several members noted that recovery time depends on the complexity of the procedure, with one sharing that their surgeon recommended waiting a full month after complex excision surgery. A recurring theme was trusting your own body's signals, following your doctor's discharge instructions, and not rushing back to driving until you feel truly ready and safe to do so.

What exactly did they do? I'm having surgery at the Mayo Clinic & its going to be a 3 hr lap so I probably won't be able to drive either. Thank you.

Just had my first lap and my surgeon said I can’t drive for a month. But it was complex excision surgery so maybe that’s why?
